The police arrested her boyfriend Parag Mhatre (20), his brother Pankaj and friend Hiren Patil on Friday night, after Asha complained that the siblings and their friends had raped her twice in two months.

Moreover, she claimed, Parag had shot an MMS clip while she was being gang-raped and threatened to circulate it among her friends.

Four of the seven accused are still missing.

The police said Parag, who had identified himself as Ritesh Patil to Asha, used to visit her college in Mira-Bhayander.
They started seeing each other seven months ago after he promised marriage.

“It seems the victim had fallen in Mhatre’s trap and believed him to the extent of having blind faith in him,” said Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Maithli Jha.

On May 14, Mhatre took her to Sai Puja lodge near Vasai and allegedly told her to have sex with four of his friends. When she refused, they took turns to rape her, the police said.

Shattered, Asha told her relatives about the incident, who advised her to file a complaint.
