An armed band of 200 Maoist rebels attacked a village in Munger district of Bihar on Monday night and beheaded two persons in public.
The rebels picked up Ramsundar Mandal and Kailash Pandit of Bhawradih village under Kharagpur police station from their homes and dragged them through the village before beheading them at a Jan Adalat (Kangaroo court).
District police chief Ashish Chandra said the Maoists first looked for the village head, but since he was not available, his brother, Ramsundar, was picked up.
What’s more, altogether 20 people were killed in different incidents across the state during the last 48 hours.

Senior Maoist leader Deepak, a member of the state military commission of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) was arrested from the southern fringes of Kolkata on Tuesday evening.
“He has been operating in Bengal for quite a few years. He had come to Behala bus stand to meet somebody, when we captured him,” said Raj Kanojia, additional director general, Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
A couple of sim cards, a tape recorder and money were recovered from him.

{{/usCountry}}“He had various aliases. We are still trying to verify them,” Kanojia added. Deepak is 42.
Andhra Pradesh police were tracking Deepak for the past 25 years, said a CID official.
Deepak’s original name is Venkatesh Reddy and he is a native of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, police sources said.
He had studied in a polytechnic in Guntur district.
