As the campaigning for the first phase of polls ended on Sunday, Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed took a final dig at the National Conference and Congress, saying parties which sacrificed the interests of the state will vanish from the political scene.
Calling this election a "battle of conscience, vision and ideology", Mufti said the NC and Congress parties were facing the challenge of their existence in the state.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhaderwah in Doda district, Mufti said his party is fighting the coming polls for a decisive mandate to bring a considerable change on governance and development front.
"People of Chenab valley are collectively looking ahead towards one party," he added.
Mufti said that during his tenure as chief minister he proved how to propagate policies of inclusive growth and development in every region and sub-region of the state. He urged people to vote for PDP to allow it to complete its "unfinished pro-people agenda".
Mufti added that during the PDP-led regime a comprehensive blueprint was prepared for socio-economic growth of the residents of Chenab valley which, he added, was stalled by the NC-led coalition government.
Mufti further alleged that the Omar Abdullah-led government implemented unequal developmental policies in the state which ultimately resulted in its lopsided growth.
