Scrutiny of nomination papers for the November 20 elections will be undertaken on Tuesday and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is November 6.

Zoramthanga filed his second nomination from Kolasib against former Sports minister and state PCC candidate P C Zoramsangliana and 'common candidate' of the Mizoram People's Conference and Zoram Nationalist Party, C. Lalbiakthanga.

Zoramthanga on Friday filed his first nomination paper to contest from Champhai, on Mizoram-Myanmar border which brought him to the state legislature for four consecutive assembly polls since 1987 including the last one in 1998.

Champhai constituency would witness two giants - Zoramthanga and former Chief Minister and state PCC chief Lal Thanhawla engaged in a battle.

Lal Thanhawla, who filed his second paper to contest from Serchhip constituency today, earlier filed his papers from Champhai from where he had been elected in 1978, 1979.
