25 crorepatis to contest second phase of LS polls in AP

As many as 25 crorepatis from different political parties will try their luck in the second phase of Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh, an election monitoring organisation on Sunday claimed.

The second phase of election for 20 Lok Sabha and 140 Assembly seats will be held on April 23 in 10 districts of the state.

National Election Watch, Andhra Pradesh, carried analysis of 214 candidates out of 254 contesting the Lok Sabha elections and found that 25 contestants were having wealth of crores of rupees which include movable and immovable assets, a study report released by the organisation said in Hyderabad.

Balashowry Vallabhaneni (Narasarapet) of Congress with assets worth Rs 121 crore topped the list, while son of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (Kadapa), Union Minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju (Kakinada), former Union Minister UV Krishnam Raju (Rajahmundry) of Praja Rajyma Party, M Murli Mohan (Rajahmundray) of TDP and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao (Guntur) of Congress also found a mention.
