The police are concerned about the security of the lone surviving suspect, Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab.

The chargesheet will not only come under the scrutiny of law courts in the country, but also the investigating agencies of over 50 countries, including Pakistan. The Crime Branch, which is investigating the case, refused to disclose the date on which the chargesheet would be filed or the court in which it will be done. “Yes, there is a threat to Kasab’s security. It (filing of the chargesheet) can happen either on Tuesday or Wednesday,” Joint Com_missioner of Police, Crime, Rakesh Maria said on Monday.

The deadline for filing the chargesheet is Wednesday.

Maria did not give a definite answer on whether Kasab would be produced in court. “It depends on the requirements and the situation,” he said. He refused comment on whether Kasab had been shifted to the Yerawada prison in Pune.
