TWENTY-SEVEN STUDENTS of Shakti Vidya Mandir could not appear in Class X exam that began today. The reason was that the school director Alok Singh allegedly failed to distribute admission cards to them. Parents of the students alleged that the students were in school till 11 pm yesterday and even then they were not given their cards.
When the students went again today, the school was closed. “It is matter of the future of our children. We want justice”, said Chand Singh Rana, a student’s guardian. The school is recognised till Higher Secondary. Alok Singh is running the school for the last five years.
After learning that the school director was not available anywhere in the City, the parents went to the MP Board of Secondary Education Secretary J N Malpani to register their complaint. There they were told that the Alok Singh took 30 examination application forms from him (Malpani) but failed to submit them within the stipulated time.
Malpani said that a reminder letter was sent to the director asking him to submit the forms. But the board did not receive any response from him, he added.
He denied giving assurances by the board for permitting any student to appear in exam without admission card. However, he said that students who could not appear in the exam due to the said reason would be allowed to sit in the supplementary exam to be conducted in the month of June, that too, as correspondence course students. He assured the parents of take action in the matter.
