In a boost to the Congress ahead of the assembly polls, 29 leaders of Loktantrik Samaj Morcha (LSM) today joined the party along with hundreds of supporters at a function in Patna.

The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) President, Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Kaisar enrolled them as the members of the party.

Most of the LSM leaders taking the Congress membership hailed from the backward and poor sections of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaiser said that the joining of the LSM leaders to the Congress was indicative of its growing popularity among the rural masses.
