SLEUTHS OF local unit of STF arrested three persons and recovered fake currency from them at UPSRTC bus stand under the Sigra police station on Sunday.
During the interrogation, the arrested persons identified as Sanjay, Dinu and Ram Dhavan admitted that they used to circulate fake currency of Rs 500. The fake currency was also circulated in the illegal trade of Hawala.
According a police official, complaints of circulation of fake Indian currency by the ISI was coming to the notice in the Purvanchal.
The STF was assigned with the responsibility of busting the gang in the region. On the basis of electronic surveillance, the STF nabbed three persons and recovered currency from their possession today. Police are interrogating the arrested persons.
