3 trains cancelled, five running late due to mishap

The South Western Railway today announced that three trains had been cancelled and five were running late as a result of the collision between the Hampi express and a goods train at Anantpur district in Andhra Pradesh.

The South Western Railway today announced that three trains had been cancelled and five were running late as a result of the collision between the Hampi express and a goods train at Anantpur district in Andhra Pradesh.

A Railway press release said that the Bangalore–Mysore Express, the Mysore-Yesvantpur Express and Hindupur–Guntakal Passenger have been cancelled for the day.

The Kacheguda-Bangalore Express, Nizamuddin-Bangalore Rajdhani Express, Mumbai(CST)-Bangalore Udyan Express, Machilipatnam-Yesvantpur Express and Bagalkot-Yesvantpur Basava Express were running late, it said.

Twenty four passengers were killed and over 40 injured when the Bangalore-bound Hampi Express rammed into a stationary goods train in Anantapur district in the wee hours.
