35 kgs of RDX recovered from Doda in J&K

In a major haul ahead of Republic Day, security forces have recovered 35 kgs of RDX and other arms and ammunition from Doda and Kathua districts of J&K.

In a major haul ahead of Republic Day, security forces have recovered 35 kgs of RDX and other arms and ammunition from Doda and Kathua districts, official sources said on Saturday.

Police and Rashtriya Rifle troops, on specific information searched the house of one Mohammad Subhan of Deribagh village on the outskirts of Doda town yesterday and recovered 25 kgs of RDX, two AK rifles with its two magazines and 58 rounds, one remote control IED and two mobile phones from the hideout.

The troops also found a well furnished underground hideout with beds and electrification in the house.

Subhan and his son Akhtar Nabaz were arrested and handed over to police for assisting and providing shelter to terrorists, they said, adding reports confirmed that ultras were planning major incident in Doda by using the RDX on Republic Day.

In another incident, security forces recovered three IEDs carrying ten kgs of RDX from a bag on Budhi-Nagrota-Ghati road link in Rajbagh area of Kathua district, they said.
