A defence spokesman said the interrogation of arrested militants was in progress and that their involvement in the car bomb blast two days ago at Rawalpora near Srinagar in which nine army personnel and a woman were injured cannot be ruled out.

The Militants were arrested from Batmaloo area of Central Srinagar where they were busy preparing an eight-kgs IED on Monday morning, the spokesman said.

He said a joint party of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG) raided Batmaloo locality on specific information and arrested Aijaz Ahmad Bhat alias "Bobby", a locally trained militant.

The timely arrest of the militant, who was preparing an eight-kgs IED, foiled Hizb plan to set off another explosion in the city, the spokesman said.

All of them were locally trained militants of Hizbul Mujahideen and were preparing IED's at the garage of Bhat before planting the devices elsewhere, the spokesman said.
