Nearly four lakh new voters will exercise their franchise in the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Himachal Pradesh.

The state now had some 41.73 lakh voters, up from 37.86 lakh in 1999, official sources said in Shimla on Tuesday.
Voters' registration will continue until April 16, the day the filing of nomination papers starts.
Though the total number of male voters continues to be marginally ahead of female voters (7,317 or 1.8 per cent), females surpass their male counterparts in 27 of the 68 assembly segments.
Kullu assembly constituency has the highest number of voters (86,116), followed by Kasumpti (85,592) and Banjuar (84,555). The tribal assembly segment of Lahaul and Spiti has the lowest voter count (21,902), followed by Sundernagar (48,641) and Bharmaur (49,116).
