4000 gelatine sticks seized in Ranchi, 5 held

The police are not ruling out a Naxalite link in the arrest.

Five persons found possessing four thousand gelatine sticks weighing about three quintal were arrested by the police.

The police are not ruling out the involvement of Naxalites in the seizure.

Stating that a possible Naxalite-link was being looked into, the SSP said one of the arrested persons, Bipin Patel, was already facing a similar case in Bokaro.

Patel, however, insisted that the explosives were meant for mining.

The arrest was made following a tip-off.
