5 girls, 4 pimps arrested for prostitution in Mumbai

On a tip-off, that girls were indulging in prostitution in a hotel at suburban Vakola, police laid a trap and raided the place.

Five girls and four pimps were arrested from a hotel on the charges of prostitution during a raid conducted last night by police, sources said on Thursday.

The pimps were helping the girls in soliciting customers, the sources added.

All of them were produced before a court which remanded them to police custody, the sources said.

The accused had been booked under the provisions of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
