55-year-old man beaten to death after nephew elopes

Dharam Pal, 55, was attacked by family members of 18-year-old Monika on Friday after they came to know that she had eloped with his nephew Bablu, 22 in Muzaffarnagar.

A man was beaten to death by relatives of a girl after she eloped with his nephew in Lank village in Muzaffarnagar.

Dharam Pal, 55, was attacked by family members of 18-year-old Monika on Friday after they came to know that she had eloped with his nephew Bablu, 22, DSP Shiv Ram Yadav told reporters.

Pal was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.

Police have registered a murder case against four persons and arrested one of them, identified as Naresh.

Tension prevailed in the village after the killing and police personnel have been deployed, Yadav said.
