A resident of Sikanderpur village near Sector 84, she underwent treatment at several hospitals earlier. But, she successfully conceived after getting IVF treatment at Pushpanjali Hospital. She delivered the child on Tuesday.
Suman Yadav, who treated Murti, said: “Assisted reproductive techniques are helpful for women who are unable to conceive naturally. IVF helps deal with infertility when all other methods of assisted reproductive technology have failed.”
Explaining the method, the doctor said the process involves hormonally-controlled ovulation, removal of eggs from the ovaries and fertilisation with the sperm fertilise in a fluid medium.
“The fertilised egg is then transferred to the patient’s uterus. This patient was keen to have a child. Hence, we helped her with the available technology. The outcome was encouraging. The couple is very happy and they are confident about the future,” she added.
