Anoop Gulati worked as a senior executive with a private company in Delhi and the car belonged to his company, the police said. The police also said the family of the deceased did not suspect any foul play.

Jagdish Prasad, the SHO of Sector 29 police station, said, Anoop Gulati had come to Sector 29 market for shopping.

“It was 8.30 pm. Some onlookers noticed smoke arising from the tyres of the car and alerted Gulati. The eyewitnesses said he panicked and probably stepped on the accelerator. The car dashed against the divider, turned turtle and caught fire,” the SHO said.
