8-hour power cut from Dombivli to Badlapur

Following a technical problem in the 220 KV sub-station at Padgha (Bhiwandi), around 25 lakh people from Dombivli to Badlapur were in the dark for eight hours. Some technical fault added five hours to the regular load-shedding time.

Following a technical problem in the 220 KV sub-station at Padgha (Bhiwandi), around 25 lakh people from Dombivli to Badlapur were in the dark for eight hours. Some technical fault added five hours to the regular load-shedding time.

This incident took place around 8.15 pm

Bharat Pawar, PRO, Mahavitaran, Kalyan, said after completion of three hours of load-shedding periods of Dombivli, Kalyan-Ulhasnagar, Badlapur and Ambarnath area, power was restored at the same time.

The problem apparently arose at the 220 KV sub-station of Mahavitaran plunging the entire stretch into darkness. A technical team immediately started to correct the fault, but it took a full five hours to restore power supply.
