A DRUG addict allegedly sodomised an eight-year-old boy and murdered him by smashing his face on a tile at a community hall in Phool Mandi area last evening.
The body of the deceased, Veeru, son of Shankar Shinde, was found last night on a parapet of the community hall. But his parents thought that he had died due to electric shock and quickly buried him at the Juni Indore crematorium.
The boy was last seen around 4.30 pm when he was riding a bicycle in the area. After that his movements could not be traced. His parents found the body when they started looking for the boy in the evening.
However, after the boy was buried, some residents of C P Shekhar Nagar, where the boy lived, said they had last seen the deceased with Deepa, 20, the son of Raju Parde. Some residents also began to suspect Deepa’s involvement in boy’s death. Deepa enjoys a bad reputation in the area.
At this point, some people also said they had seen Deepa wandering aimlessly near the community hall. By morning the news spread in the area and youths from the area caught hold of Deepa and beat him up, asking him to tell the truth.
He allegedly told them that he had taken the boy to the roof of the community hall and sodomised, killed the boy and hid the body on the parapet for dumping it at some other place during the night. Soon residents of the area gathered in large number at Pandrinath police station to register a complaint and hand Deepa over to the police.

{{/usCountry}}The police arrested Deepa and booked him under Section 302 of IPC. When the police quizzed Deepa, he allegedly confessed to his crime. They also found a ‘chaddar’ on the community hall terrace. Police also found some blood where the boy’s body was discovered.
Later, the body of the deceased was exhumed from the Juni Indore crematorium in the presence of an executive magistrate and sent for post mortem.
Area CSP Dhananjay Shah said the accused had confessed to his crime. He said they were awaiting a short post mortem report before taking further action.
