According to reports available, the fatal collision occurred on July 16 between 3:50 a.m. and 4:22 a.m. when Singh was attempting to cross Timberline Boulevard and struck by a vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene, leaving Singh lying in the roadway. A passer-by reportedly located Singh and notified the police. Living with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Singh was in the habit of going to the nearby Sikh temple every morning for prayers.

The police say that the suspect vehicle had a portion of the front bumper near the front left wheel torn off and appealed the driver of the vehicle to contact them at 905-453-2121, extension 3710.

The Major Collision Bureau has also appealed to all body shops, wreckers and mechanics that if any customer attends with a vehicle with similar damage, or is ordering a front bumper fascia, to contact the bureau.

Meanwhile, the police are searching for a dark-coloured vehicle that may have been involved in the hit-and-run collision.
