One person was arrested on 19 september and nine kg of poppy was recovered from him on Jammu-Srinagar highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A Punjab-bound truck was intercepted on Batote highway in Ramban district, police said, adding during search nine kg of poppy packed in an apple box was recovered.

Truck driver, Luckvinder Singh of Ludhiana, Punjab was arrested and a case has been registered against him, they said.
