A bad day in office I’d like to forget

Nothing worked today. It was just not my day and it had nothing to do with my long flight or tiredness, because I felt quite fine. Arjun Atwal comments.

I started the first round with a birdie and ended it with another birdie, but nothing else went for me in between.

I opened with a birdie and then had bogeys on the third and fourth. The fifth messed up everything with a triple bogey.

By the time I ended the front stretch I was three-over. On the back nine it was more sedate with one each of a birdie and a bogey.

All I can hope for is a good night's sleep, and hopefully, get back with a low score today. It was a good to score, so it felt even worse.

But that's golf. You may feel fine but the scorecard has another story to tell.

Elsewhere there were some good scores like a 64 from Adam Blyth and a 65 from Lee Sung of Korea.

My friend Daniel Chopra had a great start with a 67. He calls it his national open, I can understand why and he is very keen on adding it to his list of wins.

Meanwhile, all I need to do is to forget the day and round and focus on the job I have for today as my coach often tells me.
