A century in economics? And english?

While this year 234 Delhi students scored 100 per cent in mathematics in CBSE, one hit the same score in English, reports Anuradha Mukherjee.

Scoring a perfect 100 is turning out to be achievable -- no matter what the subject is. Not even when it is English.

This year 234 Delhi students scored 100 per cent in mathematics, while one hit the same score in English.

So how does one score a 100 out of 100? The toppers said it was all about how the answer paper is presented. And their teachers guide them on how to submit that perfect paper.

"You get 100 for presentation. Your paper has to be flawless. Our teachers told us exactly where to underline a point and where to put a bracket," said Delhi topper Radhika Bansal.

Bansal, who scored 100 in economics and mathematics, said she found the English paper a bit more difficult as it was very objective. "They had given us a word limit and even points for the essay. Where is the scope for creativity," said Bansal.

But Deepanjali Itkan of Greenway Modern Senior Secondary School, Dilshad Garden, showed the way. She is the only student from Delhi to score a 100 in English. "I have very good handwriting. And my teacher told us specific points that fetch marks in every section," she said.
