A 5-day film festival showcasing the works of world-renowned filmmaker Satyajit Ray is being held here.

Titled Satyajit Ray: Lekha Theke Chhabi, the festival jointly organised here by Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts of India and Bangladesh National Museum began on Sunday.

Winner of the Lifetime Oscar award, Ray is best remembered for his Apu trilogy as also films depicting everyday problems of the Indian society like Mahanagar, Charulata, Seemabodho and Shatranj KeKhiladi.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Veena Sikri was the chief guest at the screening.
