The bowling has always been dodgy, and except Zaheer, it is toothless. Also, there is enough evidence that the fitness and fielding is pathetic. While other teams are athletic, the Indians are sloppy.

The team has followed the script, and others too have lived up to their reputation. Australia are tough and professional; South Africa similar but somewhat suspect in crunch situations.

England's stunning decline has been the only surprise. Such is their plight that they could have lost every match.

It is impossible to say whether this will happen. The World Cup has been routine, but close to the business end it could deliver a cruel surprise.
