After rejecting the petition on Saturday, additional sessions judge Shyam Lal fixed September 30 for the start of final arguments in case.

‘Khukri’, a sharp-edged weapon suspected to have been used in the crime, was recovered from the room of the Talwars’ compounder Krishna.

On September 17, a London-based DNA expert, also a defence witness in the case, had told the CBI court that it was still possible to find some DNA evidence on the handle of ‘khukhri’.

Andre Semikhodski had told the court that the handle has several grooves and it was possible to extract DNA samples from it.

“We wanted the khukri to be sent to England for DNA test, but our application was rejected by the respected court,” said Manoj Sisodia, counsel for the dentist couple.
