A VARANASI Court sentenced an accused in the sensational murder of a six-year-old kid to life imprisonment and also slapped a penalty of Rs 30,000 on him.Hearing the case on Thursday, Special Judge (Anti-Corruption) UC Pandey sentenced one Chedi to life imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs 30,000 on him in the murder case.

Chedi had allegedly abducted and murdered the kid on September 21, 2001.
Ravi, son of Mallu, was living with his family in the same house on rent where the accused was also putting up in Sonarpura area under Bhelupur police station. Chedi was a relative of the house owner. It is said had he developed illicit relations with the daughter of the house owner.
Ravi’s mother, Geeta knew about the relationship. Chedi had even threatened her to hide the fact but she revealed the matter. Chedi then abducted Ravi to take revenge and later murdered him brutally in trans-Ganga area near Dumri village. Later, police arrested Chedi and on his confession, police recovered the skull, clothes, school badge, footwear and belt from the specified place on September 26, 2001.
