Prem Vir, who is involved in the violence, has been arrested in Noida, police said. However, the main accused, Manvir Singh Tevatia, and four others are still at large.

Tevatia has been accused of inciting farmers to attack policemen in Bhatta on May 7, in which four persons were killed. A reward of Rs 50,000 has been announced by authorities to anyone who gives information about him, resulting in his arrest.

The other accused men —Neeraj Malik, Kiran Pal, Gaje Singh and Manoj Singh — are also at large. They are carrying reward of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 on their arrest. “A hunt has been launched to arrest them,” said Ambesh Tyagi, DSP.

UP Police have booked Tevatia under several IPC sections, including murder, attempt-to-murder, rioting and abduction. On Tuesday, Ghaziabad police had arrested Jat leader Satpal Chaudhary for allegedly giving shelter to Tevatia.

A first information report (FIR) was registered against Chaudhary at Vijay Nagar police station in Ghaziabad. Police officials said that Chaudhary was prominently active during the Jat agitation in Muradnagar and Kafurpur.
