Action Plan to tackle drought in a couple of days: Nitish

Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar today said a concrete action plan for the drought-hit areas in the state would be finalised within a day or two.

Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar on Monday said a concrete action plan for the drought-hit areas in the state would be finalised within a day or two.

"Work will start immediately after finalisation of the action plan," Kumar told reporters in Patna.

"There are several areas reeling under the impact of drought...I am reviewing the situation on the basis of reports from the districts and the concerned departments have been asked to furnish reports," he said.

Kumar informed that the funds required for tackling the problems and the priority to be accorded for the purpose were being thoroughly assessed.

"We are also making assement of the situation for approaching the Centre for assistance," he said.

Kumar said the state government was ready to provide all possible help to farmers and had already provided subsidy on diesel.
