I did a heroine-oriented Tamil film, Nanai Telle, which was a remake of the award-winning Telugu film Anand. Besides, spending quality time with my family is more important to me than doing an item number or featuring in a multi-starrer, in which one gets to do just a scene or two. Doing miniscule roles as a desperate attempt to get bigger roles just doesn't work. I know what I'm capable of.
Ideal wait
It has been an ideal wait. I am ready to do commercial movies now since a new breed of film-makers is coming in. I'm a bit apprehensive about action films because heroines hardly get any scenes. I don't want to get into serious cinema so early.

No matter what we say, let us accept the fact that actresses have a limited run in the glamour world. I don't want to be kicked out of this industry. So, I want to do quality films before I retire. I'll have to settle down after a point of time. So why not do some good quality work and be remembered forever?

Priyan calling
I'm often asked why I'm not working with Priyan sir who launched me with Garam Masala. Inshallah, I'll be working with him soon. There is one more project that will start in February. I recently did a commercial for Priyan sir in the South. It had Mohan Lal and Hema Malini in it.
Pros and cons
There are pros and cons in every profession. Why just blame the film industry? There are sensible film-makers now who respect you for your work.
