Addressing mediapersons in the Collectorate on Saturday evening, the DM said the complete success of the national programme of Pulse Polio immunisation not only depended upon the government agencies but also on common people. Ultimately, it is sole responsibility of parents to ensure the safety of their kids by bringing them to the Pulse Polio booth.

The DM said that the government would ensure the treatment of 11-month-old polio victim, Mehnaz Afrin, at the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) in BHU. He directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to maintain the cold chain of vaccines during their administration amongst kids at polio booths in the city on Sunday.

On the occasion, Mufti-e-Shahar Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani said, there are misconceptions over the national programme of Pulse Polio immunisation. People must not have any kind of misconceptions, as vaccination is beneficial for kids.

Later, the DM visited the Muslim dominated Reori Talab area and held meeting with locals for the success of programme on Sunday.
