Narrating the sequence of events that led his yatra route to be changed in Madurai, Advani said, "Tamil Nadu Police need to be complimented for recovery of the bomb and advising our people to change the route."

"But I hope those behind are located and the matter is investigated thoroughly", he told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram.

83-year-old Advani, who enjoys the highest Z-plus category security and is on countrywide anti-corruption yatra, changed his route after the five-feet long bomb, concealed by grass and a saree, was found under the culvert at Alampatti near Tirumangalam, 30 km from Madurai, on Friday. The bomb was later defused.

One person, identified as Nehru, was detained and questioned by police which registered an attempt to murder case against some unidentifed persons.
