Kaziah Liz Mejo was named the winner of Miss Universe India 2026, where Urvashi Rautela served as one of the judges.

Urvashi Rautela grabbed attention with her outfit at the Miss Universe India 2026 event that was held at Jaipur on Sunday. The actor wore a gown inspired by the Indian flag, which had the saffron, white and green colour on it. Urvashi spoke to reporters at the event about her gown and why she thought it was the perfect occasion to wear it.

What Urvashi said

Urvashi said, “One should never consider failure as a failure. There is always scope to learn and to move further. I really want to wish all of them all the very best... The way they presented themselves and had so much confidence is what truly matters… We are so proud of all of them.”

Speaking about her gown, Urvashi added, “This year's Cannes Film Festival, where I did my red carpet… a media outlet asked me and I didn't think much when I said ‘I'm India' and today is a very special day. I am wearing saffron, and green and it has been created by an international designer called Dasha and it took three months to create this beautiful outfit. I am so happy to wear this gown at the Miss Universe India finale as a judge… it is my fourth time judging, and this outfit perfectly suits tonight.”

About the event and who won

Kaziah Liz Mejo emerged as the winner of Miss Universe India 2026. Tamil Nadu's Vaishnavi Gannesh was named first runner-up and was also crowned Miss International India 2026.

Anushri Satavlekar of Gujarat finished second runner-up, while Maharashtra's Tejaswini Shrivastava and Uttarakhand's Anubha Vashisth were named third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

The judging panel included Bollywood actor and India's first Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen; actress and former Miss Universe India, Urvashi Rautela, Miss Universe India 2024 Rhea Singha, and environmentalist and film producer Pragya Kapoor. Former Miss India Universe and Miss Universe Runner-up, Celina Jaitly was also a part of the selection process.

The contestants were evaluated on confidence, eloquence and stage presence during the competition. Following her national title, Mejo will begin preparations for the global Miss Universe competition.

Mejo is set to represent the country at the 75th Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in November 2026.
