Advani, Rajnath visit Sankat Mochan temple

Senior BJP leader LK Advani and party President Rajnath Singh visited the Sankat Mochan temple.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani and party President Rajnath Singh on Thursday visited the Sankat Mochan temple Varanasi to take stock of situation following the March 7 blast there.

Accompanied by senior BJP leaders SS Ahluwalia and Santosh Gangwar among others, Advani offered prayers at the temple and undertook its 'parikrama' during his 30-minute stay.

He also spent few minutes near a tree which had borne the brunt of the powerful blast that rocked the centuries-old temple two weeks ago and was briefed by the local saffron party leaders and senior policemen about various issues that emerged out of the terror attacks.

About a hundred party workers were present at the temple to welcome Advani and other senior leaders.

Advani also met the injured at Sir Sunderlal Hospital and was briefed by attending doctors about the condition of the patients.
