Speaking to reporters after meeting the Governor, BJP senior leader Venkaiah Naidu said the delegation urged Chaturvedi to take "immediate action" to advise the Chief Minister to resign, failing which he should dismiss the ministry and invite JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy to form an alternative government with BJP's support.
Naidu said the Governor told the delegation that the entire matter was being considered by him. The BJP legislators in Karnataka then started a dharna in Raj Bhavan seeking the resignation of the coalition government saying it had lost majority. Apart from BJP legislators and state leaders, party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu was also present.
