Aegis buys S Africa’s CCN Group

Aegis Ltd, the BPO arm of Essar Group, has acquired 100 per cent equity of CCN Group, one of the largest privately- owned contact centre outsourcing company in South Africa for an undisclosed amount.

Aegis Ltd, the BPO arm of Essar Group, has acquired 100 per cent equity of CCN Group, one of the largest privately- owned contact centre outsourcing company in South Africa for an undisclosed amount.

Aegis has plans to invest over $60 million (Rs 293 crore) during the next three years in the region to grow the business.
CCN Group has been in the BPO business for last 7 years and has revenues in excess of $19 million (Rs 92 crore) for FY 2008-09. Its clientele includes both onshore and offshore customers with significant revenues from clients located in UK.

It has a capacity of 700 seats and has over 1,000 employees operating out of 2 facilities.

“This is a step towards our commitment to creating 5,000 jobs in South Africa over a period of time,” said Aparup Sengupta, Global CEO and Managing Director of Aegis Limited.
