Afghanistan has given Pakistan detailed information about members of the Taliban who Afghanistan says are orchestrating a stubborn insurgency from Pakistani soil, President Hamid Karzai said on Saturday.
Karzai, who travelled to Pakistan this week where he again urged action against militants Afghanistan says are plotting and launching attacks from the safety of Pakistan, said he was now waiting for action.
"We gave our brothers a lot of information, very detailed information about individuals, locations and other issues," Karzai told a news conference in Kabul, referring to the intelligence handed over to the Pakistani authorities.
Although the neighbours are allies of the United States in its war against terrorism, Afghanistan has lingering distrust of Pakistan because of its support for the Taliban until the Sept 11 attacks on the United States in 2001.
A wave of 15 suicide bombings in Afghanistan since November, most claimed by the Taliban, has outraged Afghans and led to fresh accusations Pakistan is not doing enough to stop the militants.
Pakistan rejects accusations that Taliban commanders are plotting and launching attacks in Afghanistan from Pakistani territory.
