Holding that Gummidipoondi MLA K S Vijayakumar had brought disrepute to the House by his action, Speaker R Avudaiyappan barred him from attending the proceedings on April 12.

Vijayakumar had attempted to mislead the House by making false allegations, he said.

The AIADMK MLA had on April 5 told the Assembly that the sanctioned works had not begun in the temple.

However, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister H R Periakaruppan furnished photographic proof of the ongoing works to the Speaker as well as to the House.
