Mumbai police plans to ascertain the role of each individual who were either part of the organizing committee of All India Bakchod (AIB) Roast, or had participated in the show. It will also ascertain the role of the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) officials for giving the venue out for hosting the show on January 20.

The police, after a court’s order, had registered an FIR at Tardeo police station which named Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, Ranvir Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt.

S Jayakumar, deputy commissioner of police (Zone-3) said, “We will have to study the role of every person who were directly or indirectly part of the show. Our further action will depend on what we find during our investigation.”

The FIR was registered even after the comic group pulled down the controversial YouTube video of the show posted on January 28, tendered a public apology and made a personal visit to a religious group which felt offended by the contents of the video.

The courts’ order came after social activist Santosh Daundkar filed a petition through his advocate Abha Singh before additional chief metropolitan magistrate CS Baviskar.
