According to him, this decision was taken because both the Samajwadi Party as well as the Bahujan Samaj Party which claimed to be champions of minorities had exploited them to consolidate their vote bank only. As a result, the Muslim community was facing unemployment and insecurity.

On the occasion, Asif appointed Manzoor Kibriya as zonal president of Allahabad and Mohammed Jamal as district president with immediate effect.

He said his party would give representation to every community including Brahmins and Kshatriyas .

Coming down heavily on state minister and Samajwadi Party leader Haji Yakoob for his statement related to Rs 51 crore prize, Asif said it would be better to give this amount to the Meerut fire victims. He held the district administration responsible for the Aligarh riots.

The AIMF appealed to the electorate to vote for a secular candidate who may raise their issues in Parliament. The party workers across the country would campaign in villages in Rae Bareli ensuring that no anti-minority person was elected for the Lok Sabha seat, hesaid. He also condemned the bomb blast in Varanasi.
