A top terrorist of the Al-badr outfit was arrested by the Army from Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A top terrorist of the Al-badr outfit was arrested by the Army from Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Al-badr's self-styled divisional commander for Jammu and Udhampur districts, Tohfeen Akmal Hasmi alias Abu Ahmad was arrested in Kulgam area, 70 kms from here on Tuesday, the spokesman said.

Troops observed a person moving under suspicious circumstances in the Nandmarg forest, he said. On spotting the security forces, the person took off in a run and was chased by the troops and arrested.

The arrested terrorist is being handed over to the police for legal action, the spokesman said.
