The badly burnt body of a youth was found in his uncle’s house at the Kawarasi locality in Aligarh on Monday morning. Prima facie evidence suggested that the 23-year-old was burnt with acid before being strangled to death.

The youth has been identified as Rakesh, a student of Shri Varshney College, Aligarh.
Superintendent of police VK Mishra and station officer Vinod Payal reached the spot with a team of policemen and fingerprint experts.
Rakesh’s family members too were informed of his murder. Payal said a small bottle of acid was recovered from the room.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a girl often used to visit Rakesh.
The police are, therefore, looking for a love triangle in the crime. The post mortem report said the youth died of strangulation.
Son of a well-to-do farmer of Chalesor village, Rakesh used to live in his uncle’s newly constructed house with another young man named Ajit.
Ajit had gone to his village to attend a marriage and Rakesh was alone for the past two days.
According to neighbours, some friends had come to meet Rakesh on Sunday evening.
