Alonso wins Japanese Grand Prix

Michael Schumacher retired with engine trouble when he was leading with 17 laps to go.

Fernando Alonso of Spain won the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday driving a Renault, with Felipe Massa of Brazil second in his Ferrari. Giancarlo Fisichella of Italy was third in a Renault.
