The meeting was called after the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) announced that the yatra would start on June 28 and culminate on August 10, eleven days less than 2013's yatra.

The other aspects discussed during the meeting included the arrangements to be made by SASB for the registration of pilgrims, compulsory health certificates, which has been made mandatory from last year's yatra, and the revamped high security yatra permit.

It was resolved in the meeting that before taking any action, a general council meeting of all its associates shall be called, so that their opinions were also taken into account.

It was decided that another meeting should be organised on February 3, 2014 in Jammu, in which representatives of associate langar organisations of Baba Yatri Niyas shall be invited, for their opinion for making the arrangements better.

Prominent members present in the meeting included Rajesh Gupta, Onkar Sharma, Dineshwar Singh Jamwal, Anoop Aggarwal, Sudarshan Khajuria, Sham Langar, Varinder Jain, Ramnik Mahajan and Bal Kishan Gupta.
