"Due to prevailing situation and restrictions imposed in the Valley, the Shri Amarnath Ji yatra shall remain suspended for tomorrow," said the shrine board spokesman in Srinagar.

Kashmir remained tense on Friday after four civilians were killed in Ramban area in BSF firing on Thursday. Ramban, where tempers continue to run high, falls on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the same route used by pilgrims for the Amarnath yatra to travel from Jammu to the base camps in Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

Besides, several points on the Srinagar-Jammu highway witnessed violent protests in the Valley on Friday.
