Two months after the Congress party's nod to creation of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy will on Monday for the first time step into the Seemandhra region that is on the boil over the proposed move to bifurcate the state.

Reddy is scheduled to address a rally at Visakhapatnam on September 30, nearly a week after YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy was released from jail.

Despite opposing the bifurcation move, Reddy is being criticised by people from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions for being a part of the decision. Reddy's critics accuse him of playing into the hands of the leadership on the issue.

"He could have put in his papers when the CWC took the decision," a Congress leader said.

The rally is a litmus test for Reddy as political observers are keenly watching how he will be received by the people in the region and what all he tells them.
