Anna Hazare, 74, is showing signs of improvement, revealed the Medanta-The Medicity authorities on Monday.
Hazare's blood pressure and heart beat were normal compared to what they were on Sunday when he was admitted to the hospital. The ketone levels in urine too have reduced significantly, and the daily weight loss has also been checked.
Dr Naresh Trehan, chairman and managing director of Medanta-The Medicity who has been keeping a close eye on Anna's health even before he began his fast on August 16, said, "We have started giving him juices and will progress to giving him fruits. We will also monitor how his body takes it. Since he has not eaten anything since many days, so it is very important for him to digest what he eats."
Hazare's blood pressure that was recorded at a lowly 120/70 on Sunday improved to 130/82 on Monday while the heart beat rate too improved from 94 per minute to 84 beats.
Doctors have revealed that there is 30% improvement in his health but it will still take him a day or more to shift to
normal diet.
Talking about his team and whether he was allowed to meet his supporters, Dr Trehan said, "Anna is still very weak and he does not want to meet anybody. We will keep him under observation for the next two to three days." There are some more tests that are being conducted to check the improvement in his health.
