KGMU, KGDU may close sine die from today
THE KGMU and KGDU authorities have decided to stop academic activities sine die on the campus in case the junior doctors do not call off their strike on January 20.
A notice in this regard has been issued by the two registrars Prof US Pandey (KGMU) and Prof Rekha Gupta (KGDU).
In a meeting of head of departments of both the universities this evening, it was decided that both King George’s Medical University and UP King George’s University of Dental Sciences will be closed for under graduate students from 10 am tomorrow.
It was also decided that hostels would be vacated and re-allotment of rooms would be done on a fresh basis. The policy for allotment of rooms would be framed by a committee that would give its report within a week.
The policy of ‘no work no pay’ for the strike period will be implemented with immediate effect for the junior residents on strike.
The parents of the students of 2004 and 2005 batch would need to give an undertaking that their wards would ensure good atmosphere on the campus in future.

{{/usCountry}}More so the Executive Council of the KGMU has formed a committee to identify all the suspicious characters residing in campus hostels. The committee is headed by the dean faculty of medicine Prof Sk Agrawal with Prof KN Sinha, Prof Cg Agrawal, Prof Ashok Chandra, Prof SN Kuril and Prof VK Singh as its members.
Registrar Prof US Pandey is the member secretary of the committee.
The committee would interrogate about eight students who have been identified in various criminal offences on and off the campus in the past. A list of such students has been prepared.
The varsity authorities are already probing the complaints filed by hostellers against a few students. This committee would include the findings done in past.
Also cognizance would be taken of the police investigation against 23 FIRs filed
with the Chowk police station in past three years.
Allegations have been leveled against KGMU students for running examination racket and forcing meritorious students to solve in medical examinations papers.
