Originally from Aligarh, shooter Annu Raj Singh has been living in Faridabad since 2000. “Annu works in Air India as commercial officer,” her dentist father Dr SP Singh said.

“We are extremely happy at my daughter's spectacular success in the shooting championship,” Singh told Hindustan Times on phone, adding, “My daughter is now heading to China for the Asian Games."

Like Anisa Sayyed, who clinched two golds in the Commonwealth shooting championships, Annu Raj also shifted to Faridabad due to its proximity to the shooting range in Surajkund.

"It is a matter of joy for the people of Faridabad that our daughter has won gold in the Commonwealth Games. We will facilitate her and also encourage her so that she continues on the path of progress and prosperity," said Ashok Arora, mayor, Faridabad.

Last Sunday, Faridabad gave a red carpet reception to Sayyed.
